The HBI is Quadra Island's place to be! From live jazz music and rockin' dance covers to Canucks hockey on the big screen and free pool on Sundays, there's fantastic food and entertainment every day at the HBI! There's always great events happening at the Inn!
Friday nights are more fun when you are at the Heriot Bay Inn. Some wicked live music in the HBI Pub... "rock solid February" as the poster says. So check out the Blue Kats(vintage r&r and r&b), and Cortes Mixed Greens (funky psychedelic rock from one island over!), as well as Curl (all girl blues band) and Blackberry Wood (country, circus, ragtime. basically, just awesome.) See you in the Pub? Of course! Bands start at 9 pm.
Yes! Shari Ulrich, Tom Taylor and Barney Bentall are coming back to Herons! Saturday Feb 25th is the date for the dinner and concert. Everyone's favourite campfire instrument? Maybe not quite yet, but after you listen to the sweet Hawaiian jazz stylings of Jazzalele in the Fireside Lounge you may have a longing to take a ukulele camping, or learn how to play one!
As well as the Saturday evening performance (7 pm/$15 at the door), there are three ukulele workshops scheduled for Sunday. Workshops are $20. Details below the poster...

- Introduction to the Hawaiian Triplet strum
- Venturing up to mid-neck chords using "positions"
- Augment your playing pleasure with the diminished chord.
- Spicing up your playing by adding contrast
- Intro to tab with more than one note at a time
ADVANCED WORKSHOP (16 to adult)
Extreme ukulele for experienced players...
- Chord Melody techniques
- Fingerpicking tabs
- Diminished chord runs
- The Hawaiian Triplet Strum and where and how to use it
- Moveable chords
- Playing "fill" behind another player (sweet notes played rhythmically)
- Chromatic "Sliding"
Oscar Night... bingo and other fun as can only happen in the HBI Pub. Wear something red carpet? Oh go on, you should. (Every excuse to celebrate fun.) Watch the fab outfits as they stroll the red carpet... oh yes, and there are awards too. It starts early: 4 pm in the HBI Pub.

WHODUNNIT? We'll all know Saturday April 9 when LIGHTS, CAMERA, MURDER happens in Herons at the Heriot Bay Inn. Join Producer Sarah Bible for a "night of secrets, celebrities and scandal". Get dressed up and get in on the action! Tickets are $49 (includes dinner). Or stay at the Inn, $99 includes dinner and a room too!
